Overview: One of the most effective ways to improve your photography is to get constructive, honest and concrete feedback on your images from a seasoned pro or photography educator. As a workshop leader and educator, I’ve had countless students remark about how important image critiques have been in their development and journey to become better photographers. Let’s face it, our moms and spouses always think our photos look amazing when they see them on Facebook and other social media platforms. But honestly these platforms are not great venues for getting constructive feedback and instruction in order to grow and reach your goals as a photographic artist.

- Flexible scheduling
- 1 hour session of live personalized image critique via Zoom video conferencing with screen share based on your goals
- We’ll cover everything from in field techniques, light and composition to next steps in post processing (Lightroom and/or Photoshop)
- Ask me anything: your chance to discuss anything you want with a seasoned pro
- You can send edited images, RAW files or a combination of both. You can also provide a link to a web gallery if you prefer.
How It Works:
Once you register you’ll receive a confirmation email and invoice to make a secure online credit card payment via PayPal for the session. At that time we’ll also schedule the date and time for our session. I will provide instructions for sending the image files you’d like feedback on as well as provide you the opportunity to communicate any specific goals or topics you’d like to cover. You will also receive instructions for using Zoom if you are unfamiliar with the software.
Skill Level:
Beginner to Advanced. No matter where you are on your photographic journey it can be extremely helpful to get honest and constructive feedback of another photographer.
Tech Requirements:
All you need to take part in the online session is a laptop or computer with a built in camera with video functionality and a microphone. You can even participate using a phone or tablet.
Booking:
Full payment of 150.00 USD is required to schedule and participate in the live online critique session.
I believe critiques have been an important aspect for my growth as a photographer – taking me to the next level several times over. That being said, I have had critiques that did not help or facilitate growth for me. That stopped once I found Kurt Budliger. Kurt is one of the best educators in the photography business, including critiques. Having Kurt critique my images has helped me to become a much better photographer. It helped me to understand how to really look for images while in the field and how to make stronger photographs that will connect with my audience.
The key thing that Kurt excels at most is that he takes the time to understand your image from all angles and aspects – artistic, technical, environmental, emotional, to post processing. That means he can give a very thorough and in depth critique that is so beneficial. In addition, he’s a fun guy – he cares, he’s caring, he’s funny and he’s very easy to connect with.
