The rugged White Mountains of north-central New Hampshire provide the perfect backdrop for photographing some of New England’s best fall color. \u00a0The fall foliage in the White Mountains rivals the best fall color anywhere on the planet, full stop. \u00a0We’ll spend three marvelous days photographing sunrises and sunsets with stunning mountain views and chase fall color along gorgeous rivers, cascades and tranquil ponds with early morning mist and the haunting calls of resident Loons. \u00a0When combined with the Autumn in Vermont Workshop<\/a> this fall photography experience quite simply will be the best anywhere; whether you’ve never experience autumn in New England or you’ve lived here your entire life. \u00a0This is the quintessential bucket list fall foliage workshop experience!<\/p>\n

    Schedule:<\/h4>\n

    The workshop will kick off on October 8, 2026 at 3:00 PM in Gorham, NH with a short reception and slideshow and then it’s into the field we go to make images. There is no “set” daily schedule, rather we keep things flexible in order to best respond to the weather and available light for making images. \u00a0Typically, we’ll be out for sunrise, shoot until mid morning and then take a break for a meal and brief rest. \u00a0We’ll convene in the conference room for instruction, post processing and critique during the mid-day hours when the light is typically less conducive to photography. \u00a0We’ll then head back out into the field in the late afternoon and evening, ending our session after sunset. \u00a0We’ll end our time together after our last sunset shoot of the workshop on October 10th.<\/p>\n

    Physical Difficulty:<\/h4>\n

    There will be no strenuous hiking involved during the workshop and most locations will be close to the road.\u00a0 Some locations, however may involve a short hike of less than a mile with no serious elevation gains. \u00a0We will be spending a lot of time shooting along streams and waterfalls that will require scrambling over rocks and down hillsides.\u00a0 The terrain in the mountains can be very uneven and sometimes slippery along streams and rivers.\u00a0 Hiking boots and a modest level of health and fitness will greatly enhance your experience. \u00a0All participants should be comfortable carrying their photo gear (backpack and tripod) for at least 2 miles round trip.<\/p>\n
