Monhegan Island and its stunning beauty has been a mecca for artists for over a century. Monhegan is a small island 12 miles off the Maine coast, accessible only by boat\/ferry. The main photographic attractions include the Lighthouse Museum and view from the top, Fish Beach, Swim Beach, the Landing, Lobster Cove, Burnt Head, and Whitehead. The island is walkable from end to end on dirt roads, only work vehicles are allowed.
