Photoshop for Photographers Workshop

Photoshop for Photographers Workshop

Dates: December 7-8, 2019

Tuition:  $300.00

Location: Quechee, VT

Instructor(s): Kurt Budliger

Photo processing is a critical component of photography in the digital world.  Adobe Lightroom and Camera Raw are amazing pieces of software that allow us to bring our images to life.  But for as great as they are there are just certain things that you can’t do, or do well unless you use Photoshop.  During this workshop you’ll master 10 essential Photoshop skills that every photographer should have.  This will be a small group, hands on workshop providing you with lots of one on one instruction and time to practice newly aquired skills.  In addition to the classroom sessions we’ll have the opportunity for a sunrise shoot nearby in beautiful Vermont.

10 Photoshop Skills Covered:

  • Lightroom and Photoshop Integration
  • Layers and Masks
  • Blending Modes
  • Basic Exposure Blending
  • Basic Selections
  • Cloning
  • Dodging and Burning
  • Focus Stacking
  • Orton Effect
  • Sizing and Sharpening for Web and Print

The workshop will kick off on the afternoon of Saturday Dec. 7th with introductions and a few hours of instruction followed by dinner with the group.  We’ll get out bright and early on Sunday the 8th for a sunrise shoot followed by breakfast.  And then we’ll spend the remainder of the day learning and practicing these Photoshop skills and techniques.  We’ll end our session on Sunday at 4PM with plenty of time to return home.

Skill Level:

Intermediate.  Participants should have a solid grasp on image file management and using ACR or Lightroom’s Develop module to perform basic RAW adjustments.  Participants should also be comfortable using the software on a laptop and have solid computer skills, as well as a relatively new laptop.  Older laptops often don’t have enough RAM and storage to efficiently run Lightroom and Photoshop.

What to Bring:

Since this is a hands on, learn by doing workshop you’ll need to bring a laptop with Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC installed.  You’ll also need your camera gear for our sunrise shoot on Sunday morning.

Students are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and meals.

Full payment of 300.00 USD is required to secure a space on this workshop.  There is no refund after the final payment has been made (unless we can fill your spot).  Please see our cancellation policy for more detailed information.
